Zhujiajiao offers a water-town day out within Shanghai, with stone bridges linking streets shaped by the canals. CTN suggests starting at Fangsheng Bridge, exploring North Street and the waterside lanes, then adding Kezhi Garden or a boat. Allow at least half a day, excluding travel; a longer visit leaves room for a garden, a meal and time to enjoy the waterfront. Keep residents’ access clear and take care on bridge steps and waterside paving.
The public town area is free to enter. Gardens and selected indoor sights charge separately: the operator lists a ¥60-per-person pass for Kezhi Garden, the Garden of Harmonious Hearts and Shanghai Helong Art Gallery. Individual admission is listed at ¥20, ¥30 and ¥20 per person respectively. Choose the sites you want before buying, and confirm current offers through the operator or at the visitor center and site entrances.
A hand-rowed boat is an additional purchase. The listed one-way Kezhi Garden → Fangsheng Bridge → North Street route costs ¥200 per boat for up to six people, including infants and children. Agree on the route, destination and total charge before boarding; other routes or a return journey cost differently. Paid sights and hand-rowed boats are listed at 08:30–17:00, subject to notices. Businesses set their own hours, and the electric metro connection is a separate service.
Take Metro Line 17 from Hongqiao Railway Station to Zhujiajiao. From Exit 1, the walking approach follows Zhuxi Road, Xiangningbang Road and Xinfeng Road toward the old streets. Route 1510 is another option for the visitor-center side; check its current connection. The information point at 172 Xinfeng Road is separate from the main visitor center at 555 Kezhiyuan Road. Leave time for the journey back to the station and check the last train.
